A study, in 2013, that included similar groups to ours in terms of numbers (100 vitiligo patients versus 100 controls) on TLR2 gene Arg753Gln, TLR4 gene Asp299Gly, and Thr399Ile polymorphisms, showed that the distribution of TLR4 Asp299Gly genotype was significantly higher in the patient group (10%) than in the control group (%2) (p < 0.05). This evidence concerns the gene TLR4 and vitiligo.
