Although several various factors [22-25] can cause hair growth on the ear and may intervene (such as genetics, prostaglandins [E2 and F2α], growth hormone, insulin-like growth factor 1, transforming growth factor beta 1, tumor necrosis factor, basic fibroblast growth factor, thyroid hormones, glucocorticoids, estrogens, and androgens, etc.), based on the present study, growing hair on the ear (any point on auricle or earlobe) can powerfully predict the increased risk for CAD. This evidence concerns the gene GH1 and coronary artery disorder.
