TP53 and neoplasm: We first analyzed the fraction of the genome altered (FGA) by aneuploidy in tumors across 19 cancer types (TCGA, n = 6682; abbreviations defined in Supplementary Table 3) that contained either missense or truncating mutations in TP53. Similar to previous findings58, the FGA was significantly increased across a majority of tumor types with either truncating or missense mutations in TP53 compared to those with WT p53 (Fig. 7a).
