Stronger negative associations of HbAA with NAFLD were detected among people who had elevated ALT levels [ORQ4vsQ1: 0.74 (0.54–1.01) for ALT ≤ 40 U/L and 0.32 (0.11–0.93) for ALT > 40 U/L]. This evidence concerns the gene GPT and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
