In this study, we enrolled patients with type 2 DM, and found that all of the studied obesity-related indices (BMI, WHR, WHtR, LAP, BRI, CI, VAI, BAI, AVI, ABSI, and TyG index) were associated with albuminuria (defined as a urine albumin/creatinine ratio of ≥ 30 mg/g) in the patients. The gene discussed is ALB; the disease is obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
