Expression levels of CD11b and CD14 displayed an inverse association with total fat area, visceral fat area, and visceral to total fat ratio and a direct association with SMA, subcutaneous fat area, and subcutaneous to total fat ratio in all patients, and significantly higher expression of CD14 was observed in patients with low SMA who developed postoperative infections and 5-year cancer recurrence. This evidence concerns the gene CD14 and cancer.
