TP53 and breast carcinoma: This is the case of the NF1 mutation in neurofibromatosis, which often leads to tumours of the nervous system (Gutmann et al, 2017), of the TP53 mutations in the Li‐Fraumeni syndrome, which predispose to breast cancer, adrenocortical carcinomas, central nervous system tumours, osteosarcomas and soft‐tissue sarcomas (Malkin, 2011), and of the BRCA1/2 mutations, which considerably increase the risk of breast cancer (Tung & Garber, 2018).
