Inhibitors of Class-I aldolases have been used to target cancer cells; the muscle isoform of aldolase (ALDOA) is the most abundant isoform in multiple human cancer types (Chang et al., 2018), and its overexpression predicts poor survival probabilities in patients with lung and pancreatic cancer (Chang et al., 2019; Curcio et al., 2021). Here, ALDOA is linked to familial pancreatic carcinoma.
