Inhibition of wee-1 kinase (a tyrosine kinase involved in DNA damage–induced G2 cell cycle arrest) has been reported to enhance the efficacy of cisplatin in inhibiting p53 mutant tumor cells in vivo through eliminating G2 arrest and accumulating cells that carry unrepaired DNA damage during mitosis (Cerrito et al., 2018). This evidence concerns the gene TP53 and neoplasm.
