CD213A2 has been shown to bind to interleukin-13 (IL-13) and activate its immunomodulatory function (Tabata and Khurana Hershey, 2007); however, no direct tumor-related role has been found, so further study of CD213A2 and its effects on HCC, including through methylation and immunity, is warranted. This evidence concerns the gene IL13 and neoplasm.
