This‘encapsulation of neuronal nuclei’ in AD brain by LPS has a disruptiveeffect on the generation of important neuron-specific transcription products thatinclude the presynaptic phosphoprotein synapsin-2 (SYN-II) that associates with thecytoplasmic surface of synaptic vesicles, and the neurofilament light (NF-L) chainfilament protein that maintains the overall shape and cytoarchitecture of the neuron[42,66,97,98,102].
