The pathogenesis of ITP disease is very complicated and several studies have demonstrated that T lymphocytes, especially helper T (Th) cells, such as Th1 and regulatory T cells (Tregs) and secreted cytokines such as IFN-γ and TGF-β1 play critical roles in the development of ITP [3, 6, 7]. Here, IFNG is linked to autoimmune thrombocytopenic purpura.
