The two long-chain omega-3 fatty acids (O3-FA) eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA; C20:5n3) and/or docosahexaenoic acid (DHA; C22:6n3) have been shown to reduce blood pressure, biomarkers of myocardial fibrosis such as ST2, ameliorate left ventricular diastolic function, and decrease markers of natriuretic peptide system activation and wall stress like brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) in HF patients [6–8].
