Via a representative breeding experiment, interestingly, we found that 8-week-old p62−/− female mice already displayed infertility characteristics, including attenuated breeding success rates and cumulative number of pups per female (Fig. 1a-c), although they had a normal body weight, triglyceride levels, blood glucose levels (Supplementary Fig. 2a-c) and glucose/insulin tolerance (Supplementary Fig. 2d, e).
