NAT2 and urinary bladder carcinoma: The NAT2 slow acetylator phenotype was more common in patients with bladder cancer (15%) than in healthy controls (5%) in our study, which was similar to that observed among Northeast Asian countries (China, Japan, Taiwan, North Korea and South Korea) (18% on average) and lower than that among Europeans (59%), Caucasians, African-Americans (40- 70%) and Egyptians (80%) (Sabbagh et al., 2011).
