Some Ru-based metalla-bowl compounds showed anticancer activity among which [Ru4(p-cymene)4-(5,8-dioxydo-1,4-naphthaquinonato-)2(2,6-bis(N-(4-pyridyl)carbamoyl)pyridine)2][4CF3SO3] (5a) (Figure 5) was most potent and mediated CRC cells apoptosis by upregulating APC and p53 genes expression (Figure 3→V). Here, TP53 is linked to colorectal carcinoma.
