Baricitinib, a selective inhibitor of JAK 1 and JAK 2, inhibits the intracellular signaling pathways of cytokines, such as IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α (33), and as proven in our study, baricitinib inhibits mucin signaling, given that expression of these glycoproteins is regulated by these cytokines during infection and inflammation (8). This evidence concerns the gene JAK2 and infection.
