According to a study by Linderholm et al.66, VEGF levels were statistically higher in operable TNBC (median: 8.2 pg/μg DNA) than in non-TNBC (2.7 pg/μg DNA; P < 0.001), and these TNBC patients were observed to have a shorter RFS (HR: 1.8; P = 0.0023), breast cancer-specific survival (HR: 2.2; P = 0.004) and OS (HR: 1.8; P = 0.005) than patients in the non-TNBC group. The gene discussed is VEGFA; the disease is breast cancer.
