These last years, blocking sclerostin (Scl) with an antibody (Scl-Ab) restored bone mass and strength in human postmenopausal osteoporosis (McClung et al., 2014; Recker et al., 2015) and in different animal models of postmenopausal (Li et al., 2009), age-related (Li et al., 2010) and disuse osteoporosis (Tian et al., 2011). This evidence concerns the gene SOST and osteoporosis.
