CCL5 and neoplasm: SNAIL, a transcription factor expressed during epithelial-mesenchymal transition, activates the production of tumor-derived exosomes containing miR-21 that will be phagocyted by monocytes leading to M2 macrophages, secretion of IL6, IL8, CCL2, and CCL5 impacting in higher angiogenesis, and tumor growth (74) (Figure 4).
