Encouraging results have already been reported from the VOLTAGE trial in Japan where 5 cycles of nivolumab (anti-PDL1) post LCRT in 41 patients with cT3/4 rectal cancer resulted in pathological complete response rates of 30% in pMMR disease (11/37 patients) and 60% in dMMR disease (3/5 patients) [24]. The gene discussed is CD274; the disease is rectal cancer.
