Andreucci et al. showed that inhibition of CA IX and CA XII with ureido-substituted sulfamate SCL-0111, which is already in clinical trials phase II, can increase the response of different tumor types (melanoma, breast and colon cancer) to chemotherapy (dacarbazine, temozolomide doxorubicin or 5-fluorouracil) [39]. This evidence concerns the gene CA12 and melanoma.
