To clarify the above, Dengwen Zhang and colleagues committed a series of experiments and found that the LC3-II/I ratio was decreased, and the levels of p62, NLRP3, ASC and caspase-1 and the release of IL-1β and IL-18 were all increased in the rat diabetic myocardium with I/R injury, which was ischemia for 30 min and then reperfusion for 2 h, indicating that autophagy was inhibited and the NLRP3 inflammasome was activated in diabetic myocardial I/R injury.
