GCG and Hypoglycemia: Nevertheless, caution is needed with low-carbohydrate diets, and especially with very-low carbohydrate diets, because of the possible negative effects, such as the potential risk of diabetic ketoacidosis and oxidative stress, hypoglycemia and the reduced glucagon effect during hypoglycemia, the increase in saturated fatty acid consumption to maintain caloric intake and dyslipidemia, nutrient deficiencies and difficulties in maintaining these diets for long [59,60,61,62].
