Stratification analyses showed that the effect of serum 25(OH)D levels on elevated serum liver enzymes and NAFLD indices did not differ whether participants were nondrinkers or moderate drinkers, even though for ALT and HSI in moderate drinkers, the ORs [95% CI] of the highest quartile group were 0.82 [0.70, 0.96] and 0.77 [0.62, 0.95], respectively, compared with the lowest quartile group, with dose–response relationships (p for trend: ALT = 0.007, HSI = 0.015). Here, GPT is linked to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
