Recently, several studies have focused on the role of new and emerging biomarkers of sepsis, such as proadrenomedullin, interleukin-6 (IL-6), CD 64, the soluble form of triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells-1 (sTREM-1) [54], however most of the studies were carried out comparing P-SEP with C-RP and PCT, which to date remain the most widely diffuse markers of sepsis in clinical practice [26]. Here, IL6 is linked to Sepsis.
