These results thus demonstrate that miR-34a-5p when overexpressed in NSCLC cells, inhibits KLF4 by degradation of oncogenic KLF4α isoform of NSCLC cells, accompanied with an increase in expression of KLF4 regulated genes—IL-1β and IL-6 (Supplementary Figure S7). Here, KLF4 is linked to non-small cell lung carcinoma.
