In contrast, using a different experimental model for pressure overload, Sanlialp et al. reported that full-body knockout of SARAF expression diminished cardiac hypertrophy following transverse aortic constriction (TAC) and that adeno-associated viruses induced overexpression of SARAF in the heart that contributed to pathological cell growth following treatment with Angiotensin II (Ang II) [120].
