In a triple transgenic mouse model of AD, SFN increased neuronal BDNF expression and increased levels of neuronal and synaptic plasticity molecules including microtubule-associated protein 2 (MAP2), synaptophysin, postsynaptic density protein 95 (PSD95), cAMP response element-binding protein (CREB), CaMKII, ERK, and Akt [78]. Here, MAP2 is linked to Alzheimer disease.
