Intraplacental delivery of a similar adenoviral human IGF-1-CMV promoter constructs into mice in which placental insufficiency and FGR were created by uterine artery branch ligation resulted in increased levels of IGF-1 in placentas and restoration of fetal weight [68,69] and prevented the development of FGR-induced cardiac dysfunction in offspring [71]. This evidence concerns the gene IGF1 and placental insufficiency.
