In recent studies, we found changes in miR-221/222 expression in CD34+ circulating progenitor cells (CPCs) from hypertensive patients with isolated arterial stiffening (AS) or with both carotid intima-media thickening and left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH), and also an association of miR-221/222 with CD34+ cell number and ROS levels [8]. This evidence concerns the gene CD34 and hypertensive disorder.
