THOR regulates the proliferation and development of cancer cells by affecting the expression of the IGF2BP1 downstream signaling pathway and has been shown to play a carcinogenic role in liver cancer, gastric cancer, renal cell carcinoma, osteosarcoma, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, tongue squamous cell carcinoma, colorectal cancer, melanoma, triple negative breast cancer, and non-small cell lung adenocarcinoma [38,39].
