Lactate is the best single biomarker in the differential diagnosis of patients with stage IIA and IIB lung cancer, with AUC = 0.726, 100.0% sensitivity, and 52.4% specificity, whereas IL-6 with AUC = 0.849 may successfully distinguish patients with stage IIB from patients with stage IIA lung cancer. Here, IL6 is linked to lung carcinoma.
