Moreover, if IL-6 concentrations of ≥4 pg/mL are associated with poorer survival in lung cancer patients, and median values of this cytokine in patients with adenocarcinoma, SqCC, other NSCLC, and other lung neoplasms than NSCLC are, respectively, 34.74 pg/mL, 38.45 pg/mL, 31.43 pg/mL, and 25.63 pg/mL, we can conclude that IL-6 concentrations in our study group are elevated, and our patients are burdened with poorer outcomes. This evidence concerns the gene IL6 and lung cancer.
