CD40 and neoplasm: Since monotherapeutic strategies often fail, recent approaches aim at combining different immunomodulating agents, e.g., checkpoint inhibitors with agents that attract and activate antigen-presenting cells (chemokine agonists, cluster of differentiation 40 (CD40) agonists) or suppress factors favouring immune-suppressive cell signatures in the tumour microenvironment (TME) of PDAC (chemokine antagonists).
