In fact, it is shown that multiple germline single nucleotide polymorphisms predisposing to the development of specific ALL subtypes differ by genetic ancestry, which may account for these subtypes’ differing prevalence by race/ethnicity, e.g., GATA3 for Ph-like ALL, BCL11A for TCF3-PBX1, etc. [18,19,20]. The gene discussed is GATA3; the disease is acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
