Consistent results were obtained with the other two MM cell lines, MSTO and IST-MES1, of which only one (IST-MES1) also weakly responded to IL-6, whereas all cell lines phosphorylated STAT3 and to a lesser extent STAT1 in response to sIL-6R/IL-6 stimulation (Figure 1B). This evidence concerns the gene IL6R and Miyoshi myopathy.
