Last but not least, over-expression of GPC3 in HCC patients has been associated with poorer overall survival and disease-free survival [29]; thus, by offering sensitive and non-invasive detection of early-stage HCC (that is GPC3 positive), our GPC3-targeted imaging can potentially increase patient survival through timely intervention and through monitoring of treatment response and tumor progression. This evidence concerns the gene GPC3 and neoplasm.
