AMOT and cancer: In the MDA-MB-231 cell line, we highlight AMOT (angiomotin) protein identified only when cells were treated with either low or high concentration venom treatment and is known to play a critical role in angiogenesis, proliferation, and migration of cancer cells and is also known to promote proliferation and invasion of several types of tumor cells, including breast, prostate, colon, cervical, and liver cancer (Table 1).
