Interestingly, recently, using the created methods, we investigated the cardiac substrate metabolism in the other mouse models of cardiovascular disease—the apolipoprotein E and LDL receptor double knock-out mouse (ApoE/LDLR KO), which is one of the common models of atherosclerosis, as well as the Tgαq*44 mouse, a mouse model of cardiac hypertrophy [46,47]. The gene discussed is LDLR; the disease is cardiac hypertrophy.
