MMP9 and extramammary Paget disease: Fujimura et al. reported that large numbers of CD163+ M2 macrophages and metalloproteinase (MMP)-9+ cells were detected in invasive but not in situ EMPD lesions, suggesting that an increased number of MMP-9+ cells may be associated with CD163+ M2 macrophages and may be involved in the progression of invasive EMPD [67].
