In comparison with cancer‐related biomarkers routinely used in clinic to discriminate between healthy and cancer patients, such as CA19‐9 for diagnosis of pancreatic cancer showing AUROC values comprised between 0.872 and 0.947,44 PLA2G7 was less efficient to discriminate between cachectic and non‐cachectic pancreatic cancer patients in the present study. This evidence concerns the gene PLA2G7 and cancer.
