MGAT4EP and breast carcinoma: Interestingly, MGAT4EP not only showed a significant upregulation in breast cancer compared with normal breast tissue based on the Cancer Genome Atlas [35] (TCGA) RNA-seq data [36], but also showed a much higher expression in testis than other normal tissues based on the RNA-seq data generated by the Genotype-Tissue Expression (GTEx) project [37] (Additional File 2: Fig. S3B and C), indicating that MGAT4EP is a cancer-testis unitary pseudogene.
