It is well documented that CREB-mediated gene expression is damaged in the AD brain, and the level of phosphorylated CREB declines in the hippocampal neurons of PS1/APP double mutant transgenic mice[15]. The human SH-SY5Y cell line has been widely used in neuroscience research, particularly in the generation of the cellular model of neurodegenerative diseases[16-18].
