As shown in Fig. 6A, the mRNA level of SNAP25, STX1A, SNAP29, STX2 and SYP was significantly decreased in Alzheimer’s disease patients, compared to control subjects [SNAP25, t(10) = 3.2, P < 0.01; STX1A, t(10) = 4.7, P < 0.001; SNAP29, t(10) = 2.3, P < 0.05; STX2, t(10) = 3.7, P < 0.01; SYP, t(10) = 4.5, P < 0.01, t-test], consistent with transcriptomic data from the large-scale human samples (129 Alzheimer’s disease and 101 controls). This evidence concerns the gene SNAP25 and early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
