TGF-β is very important for the progression of pulmonary fibrosis in mice, as it regulates fibroblast proliferation, collagen synthesis and myofibroblast differentiation (Bonniaud et al., 2004; Bonniaud et al., 2005; Kang et al., 2007).The other important fibrosis regulator is BMP family, especially BMP4/7, which is considered to be an important regulatory molecule for anti-fibrosis (Hinck and Huang, 2013; Huan et al., 2015; Chanda et al., 2019). The gene discussed is TGFB1; the disease is pulmonary fibrosis.
