Further stratified analysis of the clinical characteristics of HCC patients revealed that the CD35 rs7525160 CC/CG genotype may increase the risk of different clinicopathological types of HCC, especially among patients with AFP ≥ 400 ng/ml [adjusted OR=1.94; 95% CI (1.24–3.04); P=0.004], tumor size > 5 cm [adjusted OR=1.75; 95% CI (1.19–2.56); P=0.004], TNM stage III/IV [adjusted OR=1.64; 95% CI (1.07–2.52); P=0.024], background cirrhosis [adjusted OR=1.50; 95% CI (1.05–2.15); P=0.026], or portal vein tumor thrombosis [adjusted OR=2.30; 95% CI (1.24–4.27); P=0.008] (Supplementary Table S5). This evidence concerns the gene CR1 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
