In particular, flavonoids isolated from Citrus aurantium were shown to inhibit the growth of human gastric cancer cells, by suppressing the proteins CCNB1 (cyclin B1) and CDK1 (Table 1) which control cell cycle progression; the corresponding genes CCNB1 and CDK1 were found to be upregulated in stomach cancer (Table 2). This evidence concerns the gene CCNB1 and gastric neoplasm.
