The quality of Lp-PLA2 is positively associated with subclinical atherosclerosis determined by asymptomatic cerebral artery stenosis (ACAS), intracranial artery stenosis (ICAS), and extracranial artery stenosis (ECAS) in north China regions, especially for male gender and older population, which substantiated that Lp-PLA2 quality may be a potential biomarker for the detection of adult ACAS [40]. This evidence concerns the gene PLA2G7 and familial isolated congenital asplenia.
