Whilst hematopoietic stem cell transplantation may offer a curative treatment for severe SOCS1+/- disease to prevent organ damage through chronic infections and/or autoimmunity, its potential limitations need to be considered due to the non-hematopoietic expression of SOCS1. There is need for the collection and study of larger cohorts of SOCS1 haploinsufficient patients to confirm and further study the observations we present here of the multiple immune pathway dysregulation evident in this patient group. Here, SOCS1 is linked to Autoimmunity.
