Our data demonstrating the ability of imipramine to induce apoptosis of neutrophils (Figure 4) are consistent with previously published studies demonstrating that imipramine can induce apoptosis by activating of caspase-3 and the production of ROS in YL-60 cells of acute myeloid leukemia (Xia et al., 1999a; Xia et al., 1999b). This evidence concerns the gene CASP3 and acute myeloid leukemia.
